Dianne Springfield lives in Pueblo West Colorado where she enjoys a versatile career as a performer and educator. As a performer she is the Principal cellist with the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra. As an educator she is the adjunct cello professor at Colorado State University Pueblo and also has a private cello studio.
Dianne is an accomplished cellist with a music degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Her musical experience spans well over 40 years playing cello with trained conservatory musicians in well-attended symphonic halls.
During high school she attended Interlochen Arts Academy where she had the honors of participating in a master classes with cellists Lynn Harrell and Nathaniel Rosen as well as performing a live radio broadcast of the Saint Saens cello concerto.
She began her college studies at the University of Southern California School of Music, studying with Gabor Rejto and Eleanor Schoenfeld then completed her Bachelor's of Art degree in Music at the University of California, Berkeley where she studied ethnomusicology with Dr. Bonnie Wade. It was during her studies at Berkeley that she expanded her classical training to include interests in global music cultures. She has also explored electric music technology and plays a 5-string Jensen electric cello with a loop-station.
Dianne has performed at numerous special events over the years. Whether it's a wedding, anniversary, or corporate event, live music can't be beat for creating a special atmosphere.
